Yamaha Guitar Group is a leading manufacturer of electric guitar and bass products, consisting of the “Line 6”, “Ampeg”, “Cordoba” & “Guild” brands. We are looking for a District Sales Manager (Cordoba & Guild) to join the team!
This is a critical position in a creative, fun, and driven work environment. For optimal travel efficiency candidates based in the Midwest (MI, WI, IL, IN, TN, MN, MO, TX) are preferred.Job DescriptionThe District Sales Manager is responsible for promoting and selling Guild and Cordoba products to music retailers across the Midwest of the U.S. This role involves extensive travel to build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, identify new business opportunities, and provide exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is passionate about guitars, possesses strong sales skills, and enjoys traveling and meeting new people.
Sales And Business Development
  • Promote and sell Guild and Cordoba products to music retailers within the Midwest.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase market share.
Customer Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Conduct regular visits to music retailers to provide product demonstrations, training, and support.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
Product Knowledge And Training
  • Stay updated on the latest products, features, and industry trends.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for customers and sales staff.
  • Assist customers in selecting the right products to meet their needs.
Marketing And Promotion
  • Represent Guild and Cordoba at trade shows, events, and industry conferences.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional strategies and campaigns where appropriate.
  • Distribute marketing materials and ensure proper product display at retail locations.
Reporting And Administration
  • Prepare and submit regular sales reports, expense reports, and market feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and inventory levels whenever possible.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Experience/QualificationsWhat you Bring to the table
  • Proven sales experience, ideally within the music industry, with a deep passion for guitars and a strong understanding of their features and benefits.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills to build rapport, understand customer needs, and confidently present guitar options.
  • Ability to work independently and potentially travel to meet sales goals.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach to exceed sales targets.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite to maintain records and reports.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for potential travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a musician or in a music-related field to connect with customers on a deeper level.
  • Familiarity with the regional music retail market to understand customer preferences and buying trends.
  • Experience in product demonstration and customer training to effectively showcase guitars and empower buyers.
