The Opportunity Precede Biosciences is seeking a Scientist as a member of our Development Operations team. The Development Operations group is part of our larger Product Development team responsible for designing and optimizing our proprietary assays. Major responsibilities of this role include routine sample processing to generate data supporting both internal and external collaborations. In addition, the team works closely with the Assay Development and Automation Engineering teams to refine and implement improvements, ensuring quality is maintained throughout our processes. Who You Are
You're passionate about generating high quality, reproducible data on patient samples using our innovative lab workflow that will directly impact biopharma research and enable development of diagnostic products to support patient management
You understand the rigor required to accurately process clinical samples at scale through complex NGS-based assays in both R&D and Operational environments
You enjoy working on a cross-functional team central to our success with opportunities to learn new techniques and train others on best practices
What You'll Do
You will be part of a cross-functional Product Development team advancing our novel technology into a regulated lab environment to deliver new clinical insights to physicians and their patients
Process clinical samples for internal and external stakeholders
Participate in method development and optimization, validation studies and technology transfer of our assays into operations for use in clinical studies
Test, optimize and implement process improvements including lab information system (LIS) integration and automated lab methods
Collaborate with quality assurance in the development and implementation of quality control procedures
Provide operational support for materials management
Partner with computational biology to design and execute validation studies and technology transfer of our assays into Operations
What You'll Bring
At least 5 years of hands-on industry and/or academic experience with next-generation DNA sequencing (NGS) and associated methodologies including DNA-seq and/or RNA-seq protocols
Hands on experience in routine execution and troubleshooting of complex molecular diagnostic and NGS-based assays
Ability to analyze results generated from routine sample processing and communicate opportunities for process optimization
Experienced user, or programmer, of automated liquid handlers
You have excellent time management and organizational capabilities necessary to deliver results in a fast-paced environment with changing and competing priorities
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast paced team environment
Passion to work in a highly collaborative start-up environment within a diverse work environment that inspires creative thinking
Knowledge from a Bachelors or Masters degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics or related field
Bonus skills include: prior experience working in a CLIA regulated lab environment and experience working with LBx and FFPE oncology specimens
