Avondale Elementary School District is Hiring a Food Service Manager Near Avondale, AZ

I. General Description: This position, under general direction, assumes responsibility for operating the school food service program in accordance with District policies, procedures, and regulations.
II. Qualifications
  • Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a minimum of five years of experience in a volume food service operation, including one year of supervisory experience.
  • Must be neat, clean, and personable.
  • Must possess general clerical skills and bookkeeping experience.
  • Must possess County Certification for food manager (renewed every three years).
  • Must be able to understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Must follow appropriate dress code to meet health standards.
  • Must be able to lift up to thirty pounds.
III. Duties And Responsibilities
  • Schedules, directs, assigns, and evaluates food service employees.
  • Establishes and enforces position duties, work methods, sanitation, and health standards.
  • Responsible for ordering food and supplies as needed for the operation of the school’s food service program.
  • Becomes thoroughly familiar with all position duties, equipment, and operations, etc.
  • Makes recommendations for changes in procedure to the Food Services Director.
  • Assists in the training and evaluation of the Food Services staff to ensure efficiency and compliance with sanitary and health standards.
  • Performs non-supervisory duties during personnel shortages.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records of cafeteria monies and meals served.
  • Attends safety and manager meetings as required.
  • Manages the preparation and service of meals for special functions.
  • Complies with School Safety Manual Rules & Regulations and OSHA requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Status: Full-Time
Salary Range: $14.47 - $16.73 per hour DOE
