Description:
The Manager, Brand and Consumer Marketing is a proud brand ambassador with brand and marketing skills; contributes to the successful execution of NPB’s annual Program of Work; and plays a leadership role on the marketing and communications team to help deliver high quality programs and initiatives to increase demand and consumption of USA-grown peanuts.
Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications/CMO, the Manager, Brand and Consumer Marketing works in collaboration with other team members and with outside marketing, public relations and other vendors. The role requires strategy planning as well as attention to detail in executing all assignments.
The Manager, Brand and Consumer Marketing serves a key role not only working with internal team, contractors, and agency partners in developing the plan but also in working the plan to achievement, serving as the leader supporting National Peanut Board’s strategic priorities.
Position Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:
· Supports the Strategic Planning Leadership Team including staff, contractors and partners, in developing the plan but also in working the plan to achievement.
· Performs other duties to support NPB’s strategic goals as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
· BS/BA or equivalent, preferably in marketing or communications.
· 7 years of marketing with brand and consumer experience.
· Experience with consumer-packaged-goods (CPG) brands including product development and launch.
· Experience in food industry.
· Experience with brand identity, positioning, and management
· Experience managing agencies, content writers and graphic designers.
· Experience leading campaign planning and creative concept and development.
· Excellent writing and communication skills.
· A self-starter with the talent, motivation and attention to detail to work with a wide range of projects and initiatives.
· Take initiative and meet deadlines with thoughtful, on-target deliverables.
· Excellent organizational and administrative skills to support other internal and virtual team members in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Access) and database software.
· Organized and multi-tasking individual with great attention to detail and follow-through.
· Builds and grows relationships on behalf of NPB.

Physical demands and work environment:
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
· Physical demand: The work is mostly sedentary, operating a computer keyboard and phone, with periods of light physical activity, and is performed mostly in office surroundings. At times there may be need for packing materials and lifting up to 25 pounds as well as bending and reaching. There is up to 40% travel to attend and participate at trade shows, industry events and other occasional offsite activity involved that, at times, requires standing for long periods; lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds; bending and reaching. In addition, the work requires the ability to speak and to use normal or aided vision and hearing. Subject to work beyond the normal scheduled hours of work; to attend evening and weekend events and some weekend travel to/from events.
· Work environment: The noise level in the office work environment is usually low; however, offsite activities such as trade shows will be higher.
