B.S. Degree in Accounting or Associate Degree in Accounting and/or equivalent experience

Work Skills Needed

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Insurance specific software a plus …)

Able to work independently, but with easy access to management

Able to pleasantly and effectively communicate with other team members

Able to present monthly financial reports to the organization’s board of directors

Able to collaborate with organization’s auditors and regulatory agencies

Good internal customer skills and able to supervise other accounting team members

General office experience

Insurance industry experience desirable

Able to prioritize while managing multiple tasks

Job Duties

Responsible for the overall accounting functions for the organization including A/P, A/R, payroll, etc.

Compliance with insurance industry regulatory agencies

Required to be in-office daily at corporate location

Able to obtain Property and Casualty agent’s license (applicable fees paid by company)

Any other duties assigned by the President-CEO

Summary
In the role of Accountant, you will be responsible for applying your core skills in accounting, GAAP and SAP principles, and financial concepts to ensure accurate financial record-keeping and reporting. Utilizing premium skills such as knowledge of the organization's financial statements you will contribute to the financial integrity and regulatory compliance. Your relevant skills in financial report writing, and balance sheet reconciliation will be essential in supporting financial decision-making and maintaining financial health of the organization. With a Bachelor's degree or associated degree in Accounting and proficiency in Microsoft Office, you will play a vital role in the financial management of the organization.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
