DuPage County Government is Hiring a Community Program Manager Near Wheaton, IL

POSITION SUMMARY

We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Community Program Manager within the DuPage County Department of Community Services. This position will support the County’s partnership with Giving DuPage which promotes giving and volunteerism in DuPage County.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only, and is not a comprehensive listing of all the duties and responsibilities performed by positions in this class.

  • Develops and maintains working relationships with community groups, corporations, agencies, municipalities and townships; leads or coordinates group meetings or advisory groups
  • Develops strategies to increase engagement, interaction and participation in volunteer programs
  • Promotes understanding and utilization of programs by performing various public relations activities through the media, working relationships with other agencies and municipalities, and funding sources
  • Assists the appropriate Administrator with large projects including annual programs and coordination of daily activities
  • Supervises the work of subordinate personnel engaged in service generated programs and activities (i.e. fundraising, social media, and community outreach)
  • Recommends hires and promotions, directs and evaluates employment decisions for all assigned positions
  • Develops and monitors annual program budget
  • Develops design concept and writes copy for various marketing materials
  • Develops, organizes and coordinates the implementation of established goals, objectives, plans, and daily activities of service generated programs, activities and projects as well as monitors, researches, and participates in activities that will promote these programs/projects
  • Maintains statistics and evaluates tracking tools to assist in monitoring the effectiveness and efficiency of various programs
  • Ensures staff compliance with division policies and procedures
  • Assists staff on decision-making process
  • Represents the Community Services Division at meetings, presentations and workshops
  • Prepares reports
  • Participates with various boards
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Exercises supervision of personnel in related area of responsibility.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Business Administration, Marketing or Communications or related field. Four years of experience in overseeing a Human Services program and one year of supervisory experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess and maintain in good standing a valid Illinois driver’s license. The preferred candidate will have experience:
  • Developing social media campaigns
  • Creating and delivering presentations to a wide range of audiences
  • Creating and designing marketing collateral
A pre-employment background check is required.

The work will occur in an office and/or field environment. When performing the duties and responsibilities in the field, this position will work in extreme weather conditions and in cramped or confined spaces.
