Vanguard Renewables is Hiring a Senior Development Manager Near Weston, MA

Senior Development Manager

Vanguard Renewables is the premier anaerobic digester developer/owner/operator in the United States. Our closed-loop anaerobic digestion process converts organic waste and cow manure into green electricity or renewable natural gas as well as other related “value-added” products. We are headquartered in MA, funded by institutional capital partners, and currently, have 20 projects operating and in development in over 13 states. We have a plan to aggressively expand into other domestic markets.

Vanguard Renewables seeks a Senior Development Manager to be a leader in several states or metropolitan areas executing projects from siting through to construction completion. The Development Manager reports to the Vice President of Development and the Director of Development.

Responsibilities

● Manage all development projects and related functions and activities

● Ensure project activities comply with company and contract requirements

● Assists management to create contingency plans in anticipation of delayed timelines with consideration to cost and risk to comply with contract requirements and company deadlines

● Oversight of day-to-day permitting

● Negotiate definitive agreements and other project related contracts

● Manage all due diligence requirements including preliminary engineering, manure sampling, operating costs, geotech reports, environmental reports, surveys, etc.

● Develop, implement and administer project procedures, budgets and other work controlling documents, including designs, submittals, and schedules,

● Represent company, project and/or department during investor, client and project management meetings. Create unique reports designed with each stakeholder’s priorities in mind

● Create development models for each project, including sources & uses of capital and profit & loss projections. Update models frequently and report changes.

● Interface with all company departments as required to resolve problems, ensure quality of engineering and construction, etc. in support of overall project schedule including coordination of field scheduling

● Maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders and utilize connections in negotiations. Identify areas of opportunity in contracts to mitigate risk and cost by consolidating or expanding supplier or contractor involvement.

● Serve as a mentor to Analysts and Development Associates

● Other duties as may be required and frequent travel is required

● Consistent and on-time attendance

● Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

● BA/BS degree required

● Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field

● Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills

● Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office

● Strong written and verbal communication skills

● Team player with excellent interpersonal skills

● Self motivated

● Proven success design, engineering, permitting, financial analysis or project management preferred

● Experience planning, organizing and coordinating multiple projects at the same time

● Ability to create and present polished reports
