Grinds Coffee Pouches is Hiring an Accounting Manager Near Westfield, IN

Description of Position

The Accounting Manager is responsible for all aspects of Grind’s financial reporting systems. This position will involve daily work with transaction accounting modules utilizing the Company’s ERP system (NetSuite). This position requires someone capable of working with minimal oversight and managing the daily accounting and financial transaction activities needed to support:

  • Ongoing business activities.
  • Timely closing of the books at month-end (goal is to close in five business days)
  • Timely filing of State Sales and Use Taxes
  • Annual special reporting (filing compliance reports with various regulatory agencies, insurance companies, etc.).

In addition to the above, the role is expected to develop strong working relationships with the company leadership team and key members of the sales and operations teams

Compensation

The Accounting Manager's compensation will be as follows: 

  • Starting at $70,000 annually, paid in bi-weekly installments
  • Enrollment in the Benefits plan offered by Grinds 
  • 401(k) Plan participation

Primary Responsibilities of this Position

  1. Leads all accounting practices and ensures compliance with accounting policies and federal and state accounting regulations. Ensures maintenance of appropriate internal financial controls. 
  2. Supports end-to-end accounting needs from invoice entry, reconciliation, and other required AR and AP activities daily and weekly.
  3. Responsible for entering transactions (AP/AR), creating journal entries, reconciling accounts, and performing all other duties required to close the books monthly/quarterly/annual. 
  4. Prepares end-of-month close in adherence to policies and publishes financial reports by the fifth business day (i.e. May reports due on the fifth business day in June)
  5. Monitors accounting activities for the Company to ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate governance procedures.
  6. Prepare an annual budget working with other senior executives and update the budget as necessary throughout the year.
  7. Completes ad hoc analyses and presentations as requested by other executive Leaders, which may include but is not limited to long-term projections based on department needs and upcoming capital projects.
  8. Monitors and manages cash flow and bank balances, making decisions or recommendations regarding fund transfers and ensuring effective utilization of cash balances. Ensure oversight of wires and other fund transfers.
  9. Prepares external reports for government agencies and external auditors and internal financial reports and analyses on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to assess profitability and efficiency metrics.
  10. Will need to be able to act as a liaison with a CPA firm regarding tax matters and be able to file all required Sales and Use Tax returns
  11. Other responsibilities as assigned

Working Conditions or Environment

The position will sometimes be working in an office environment and, at times, in a manufacturing facility on the production floor or in a warehouse environment. At those times, the individual will be exposed to the following conditions:

  • Loud noise
  • Machinery with moving parts
  • Variable temperatures on occasion

Essential Functions of the Position

  • Must be able to close the books monthly and perform transaction accounting (i.e., A/P, A/R, cash application, etc., as needed)
  • Must have experience working in Oracle NetSuite ERP
  • Must be able to verbally communicate with employees and customers and respond to verbal communication from others.
  • Must be able to view, interpret, and present information in a multi-media format
  • Must be able to operate a computer, telephone, and other office equipment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree majoring in accounting, finance, business administration, or other relevant field
  • 3 years of experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Highly proficient computer skills, including MS Office software, ERP platforms

Additional Preferred Skills

  • MBA in accounting, finance, business or other related field
  • 5 years in a senior-level corporate finance position
  • Detailed working knowledge of GAAP requirements
  • CPA, CMA certification 
  • NetSuite Experience
