We are seeking a Benefits Coordinator to join our HR team. We are 'where people matter' and lead with kindness and caring. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the administration of three benefit programs, processing all life events, new hires, and status changes, and will participate in annual benefits enrollment. This is a great opportunity for an individual with one - three years' of experience in benefits administration. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver, and critical thinker, have a passion for benefits, and thrive working in a complex, ever-changing environment. This is a hybrid role based out of our Warrenton, Virginia office.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the administration of three benefit programs.
  • Processes all benefit life events, new hires, and status changes, ensuring documentation is provided and information is complete/correct.
  • Administers COBRA, flexible spending accounts and HSA via third party vendor.
  • Participates in the annual benefit enrollment process, including preparing/updating all benefits materials, benefit admin system, company intranet and employee communications.
  • Performs weekly benefit audits confirming/updating benefit eligibility in HRIS and/or vendor systems.
  • Drafts monthly benefits communications for company distribution; posts on the intranet; coordinates webinars with external vendors quarterly.
  • Develops, maintains and updates benefit intranet pages, including HR employee resource pages and home pages of HRIS system.
  • Responds to all employee inquiries submitted via benefits inbox within 24 hours.
  • Assists in the administration of leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with leave laws.
  • Participates in employee manual review/updating/document acknowledgement.
  • Completes EEOC filings annually.
  • Validates data for annual ACA filing.
  • Backup for Benefits Manager for employment changes, leaves of absence, and terminations.
  • Will act as a backup for all employee onboarding activities.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Degree in human resources/benefits or related field.
  • At least 1-3 years' benefits experience is required.
  • Familiarity with payroll and benefits software, preferably UKG.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and context switch.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible in an ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels across the organization.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills.
