Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Lead Teacher in the Under Five Thrive program at Behavioral Health Network!

**NOTICE**

In accordance with the BHN Mandatory COVID vaccine policy - all staff, interns, temps, residents and contractors are required to be fully vaccinated no later than day one of employment. Medical or religious exemptions will be offered and must be approved prior to starting work.

The same guidelines noted above apply during flu season (defined as December 1st – through end of flu season as announced by the CDC) for BHN’s Mandatory Influenza Vaccine policy.

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Under Five Thrive program with the following:

  • Overseeing the direct care of children aged 6 weeks - 5 years.
  • Ensuring the safety, hygiene, and emotional security of the children.
  • Planning activities to promote children’s social, physical, and intellectual growth.
  • Completing lesson plans, progress reports, incident reports, and other classroom records as needed.
  • Adapting their curriculum to the special needs of children.
  • Providing daily transportation to and from children’s homes, the childcare center, and occasional appointments.
  • Assisting families with case management needs.
  • Engaging parents by being responsive to their needs.
  • Participating in parent conferences when necessary.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all children, parents, and staff.

The Under Five Thrive program offers comprehensive wrap around support services to participant’s who are pregnant or parenting. The program is modeled after national initiatives designed to support the development of children and youth and to help break the cycle of poverty by engaging vulnerable families in a variety of critical services.

What are we looking for in a Lead Teacher?

  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required).
  • Three or more years of related experience (required).
  • Current or have the ability to obtain certification for CPR, First Aid and Food Health Safety within three months of hire.
  • Physical abilities including lifting up to 40 pounds, bending to a child’s level, repeated sitting and standing, moving quickly to respond to safety emergencies, and spending an hour or more outside each day, weather permitting.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use computer software applications.
  • Familiarity with internet, e-mail, and basic word processing.
  • Willingness to learn new software applications necessary to perform job, including electronic health record, if applicable.
  • Meets EEC qualifications for a certified Preschool Teacher.
  • Good driving record.
