Inclusion Specialist - Children’s Program (part time, 12 hours per week)

New Art Center is seeking an Inclusion Specialist to assist with our vibrant summer camp program. Working with students in grades 1-7, this individual will support students throughout their art classes, providing recommendations to teachers, TAs, and camp administrative staff.

Duties

• 12 hours/week, $28/hr (or potential for school credit for those in MA program)
• Work with full-time and seasonal staff to create an inclusive camp space for students of all ages and abilities (incl. Curriculum advising, space allocation, program recommendations)
• Consult with summer staff during camp sessions to recommend best practices and supports for higher-needs students
• Schedule phone calls with parents/families to build relationships and create individual plans for student supports
• Conduct tours with incoming students to prepare them ahead of attending camp

Ultimately, New Art Center's goal for this position is to help us achieve our mission of making art accessible to all, regardless of skill or ability.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of teaching and/or childcare experience
• Course work in related fields (Child Psychology, Special Education, or comparable)
• Experience working with elementary age students with neurodivergences (ADD, ADHD, ASD) a plus
