Housby is Hiring a Service Manager Near Walford, IA

FLSA Status: Exempt

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for running the Service Department for the Housby Heavy location in Walford, IA. This position will be responsible for operating the department at maximum production, controlling costs, building an established customer base, maintaining good employee relationships, setting and obtaining sales and profit objectives, and maintaining service records.

FOCUS:

  • Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Supervise and manage all personnel in the Service department.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibility in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving internal problems.
  • Maintain optimum production of job completion at the least possible cost.
  • Manage the day-to-day departmental expectations to promote maximum production.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing, billing and customer follow-ups.
  • Communicate and follow up with customers to identify their needs and ways that Housby can support those needs.
  • Manage and maintain effective working relationships across the organization.
  • Work with the General Manager to develop and manage the departmental budget to ensure goals and financials are met.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and follow up as required in a timely and orderly manner.
  • Assist with answering incoming calls, writing and presenting estimates for service customers, and writing repair orders and billing out accordingly.
  • Maintain and create good customer and internal relationships.
  • Participate in job-related training and development.
  • Maintain a professional image at all times.
  • Must follow the Company's safety rules and safety policies.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous management experience, preferably in a heavy-duty equipment industry, is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Possess a strong attention to detail.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid Driver's License and dependable transportation.
  • Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
  • Knowledge and experience working with a dealer system.
  • Must have and follow Housby's Core Values.
  • Ability to interpret customer needs.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Some post-secondary education preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Oral communication over the phone and in person.
  • Ability to view a computer monitor.
  • Alpha/numeric keyboarding.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing, climbing, stooping, squatting, walking, and reaching for long periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The work environment for this position is varied due to the differences in our work site. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic and outside weather conditions.
  • Works primarily indoors. Exposed to some outside weather.
  • Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
  • Some evening hours may be required.
