"S&G Carpet and More is hiring an Administrative Assistant to join the team in West Sacramento, CA!"

  • This is a full-time in-person position. Training will be in-office at the current Rocklin location, M-F. Position will move to new West Sacramento location by May 2024
  • Pay starts at $18 to $20 per hour
  • Monday through Friday schedule. Typical office hours - no swing shift or graveyard shift

The S&G Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting with a variety of administrative work.

This position will be primarily focused on heavy data entry. The applicant should have a desire and comfortability with utilizing multiple screens and programs to compile information into a spreadsheet. That will be the main purpose and objective of this specific position.
However, the position may include cross-training, depending on the administrative needs. The position may also include (but not necessarily) various other tasks, such as: Installer Payables, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general administrative work, etc.

The administrative assistant will train at the Rocklin Corporate offices, Monday through Friday. The position will continue in Rocklin until May of 2024, when it will re-locate to the corporate office in West Sacramento. 

This is a full-time position which will start between 8am or 9am and end between 5pm or 6pm.

The Administrative Assistant must:

  • Be self-motivated and adept at problem solving
  • Clearly communicate
  • Engage in professional behavior with Company staff, customers, and vendors
  • Work cohesively with peers and members of the corporate team

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry –
    • Navigating multiple systems and populating spreadsheets with information
  • Installer Payables –
    • Responsible for accurate and weekly payments to subcontractors
    • Review, enter, and pay invoices
    • Communicate with subcontractors and other members of the S&G team to ensure accurate payment of invoices
    • Mail out payments to the subcontractors
    • Track and review insurance and applications
  • Accounts Payable –
    • Responsible for accurate and weekly payments to vendors; Review, enter, and pay invoices
    • Code to appropriate GL accounts
    • Communicate with vendors and other members of the S&G team to ensure accurate payment of invoices
  • Accounts Receivable –
    • Responsible for collecting payments from customers
    • General administrative work – provide general administrative work based on the needs of the administrative office, lead accountant, and CFO

Skills and Specifications:

  • Intermediate computer skills, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Accurate and efficient data entry
  • Punctuality, dependability, and responsiveness.
  • Capable of preserving confidential/sensitive Company information.
  • Can work alone or as part of a team.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both writing and verbal

Education and Qualifications Preferred:

  • 2 years administrative experience preferred.
  • A short skills assessment will be given at the interview.

Requirements of the Position:

  • The administrative assistant will work at a computer display terminal for 6-8 hours a day.
  • The administrative assistant will train at the Rocklin Corporate office, Monday through Friday, during their agreed upon working hours.
  • After training, the administrative assistant will continue to work at the Rocklin Corporate office until May of 2024.
  • In May of 2024, the position will relocate to Corporate offices in West Sacramento.
