Security Engineer (Pen Tester)

We are seeking a talented Security Engineer (Pen Tester) to join our team in the Washington DC Area. The ideal candidate will be a Cyber Security Engineer (Penetration Tester) with expertise in ensuring system security. This role requires prior, relevant experience with system security testing (OS, Applications, Databases, network, penetration testing) and proficiency in appropriate methodologies and tools.

• Estimated Starting Salary Range for Security Engineer (Pen Tester): Pay commensurate with experience.

Security Engineer (Pen Tester) Responsibilities Include:

• Develop penetration test analysis and reports
• Conduct system (application, OS, Database, network etc) vulnerability tests, as needed
• Test e-Authentication in and out of scope
• Test SADI in and out of scope
• Develop and finalize rules of engagement artifacts
• Install and configure additional test tools, as needed
• Confirm test accounts are active
• Confirm threat model and test plans
• Test planning, coordination, and preparation
• Research vulnerability remediation and implementation
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Security Engineer (Pen Tester) Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• An Active Public Trust or the ability to obtain one is required
• Prior, equivalent experience (at least 5 years) in a similar environment and with installation, configuration of security testing (OS, Apps, DB's, Networks, Penetration testing) tools
• Knowledge of and skills with state of the art with tools, processes in a similar environment
• Excellent communication skills to convey testing results and solutions to team members
• Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring system security meets industry and IRS standards
• Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
