CDI Opportunities is Hiring a Control Room Operator Near Visalia, CA

Essential Functions List of significant/essential duties, tasks and/or responsibilities required of this position.

Operate and CIP evaporators and dryers to company standards.

Take hourly readings on evaporator/dryer status, temperatures, vacuum, solids, flow rates and log accordingly into the proper log sheet.

Responsible for proper CIP of evaporators, dryers and inspection of the equipment.

Monitor chemical strengths and note on log sheet.

CIP all lines and condense presses.

Keep all gaskets, clamps, pipe jumpers, etc. in your work area in sanitizing solution.

Know proper established start up and shut down procedures for assigned dryers.

Maintain proper moisture and quality of product being run.

Clean product filters as necessary. Clean and change sprays as necessary.

Cleaning of the dryer includes sweeping of the chamber.

Report any leaks and/or product losses immediately to management.

Follow all the departmental proper established procedures, all instructions given by foreperson/supervisor and maintain a clean and safe work area.

Assist fellow operators as needed.

Use initiative and judgment in making decisions, keeping with California Dairies, Inc. best interests.

Must have the ability to troubleshoot problems and be persistent until a solution is found.

Report immediately to foreperson or supervisor of any damage, irregular activity, or unsafe conditions concerning equipment.

Follow SQF, GMP, and HACCP policies and procedures.

Follow all safety and working rules.

Must have the ability to get along with co-workers, management personnel, customers, vendors, and employees in accordance with the company policies and working rules while ensuring a harmonious and conducive work environment.

Maintain a positive attitude and contribute towards a quality environment.

Excellent regular full time attendance in support of company objectives.

Use initiative and judgment in making decisions, keeping with California Dairies, Inc. best interests.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

 Education and/or Experience

High School diploma required

Basic computational skills required.

Simple math reasoning required.

Extensive experience in dairy production required.

Language Skills

Fluent/proficient in English, the written and spoken language.

Reasoning Ability

Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to discern when issues may require input from levels of authority within the corporation.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must be able to acquire and maintain a Pasteurizer’s License. Must possess or be able to acquire and maintain a forklift operator license.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The company will make reasonable accommodations that do not cause an undue hardship to the company if such accommodation enables individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

Sitting/Standing/Walking: The operator stands throughout their shift and occasionally sits while performing tests. The operator walks on uneven concrete and tiles surfaces.

Lifting/Carrying: The operator lifts 51-75 pounds throughout the regular work day and 80 pounds on an occasional basis. Two or more employees complete lifts of greater than 80 pounds.

Pushing/Pulling: The operator occasionally pushes/pulls a variety of objects including empty pallets, brooms, floor scrubbers, air hoses, portable foamers, and vacuums during clean up activities. The operator will push/pull pipe fittings during hook ups.

Bending/Stooping: The operator bends and stoops occasionally throughout the workday, when servicing equipment, picking supplies or waste product on the floor.

Squatting/Kneeling/Crawling: The operator may squat when picking up supplies and during cleanup duties, including kneeling on the floor and crawling under equipment.

Twisting/Turning: Occasional twisting and turning at the waist during clean up duties and conducting hookups.

Climbing/Balancing: The operator climbs a 200-step staircase several times during the shift to inspect or prepare the dryer for clean up. The operator may have to balance while climbing inside the dryer static bed and vibrating fluid bed, burner cabinet, explosion door cabinet, and bag houses during the dryer clean up process.

Reaching: The operator reaches below shoulder level to pick up pipefittings from the floors or while servicing product pumps and related equipment. The operator may reach at or above shoulder level when changing product sprays or making equipment adjustments, during cleanup duties, or while scraping the inside of the dryer ceiling.

Grasping/Manipulating: Frequent use of the hands and fingers is required of the dryer operator when servicing pumps, using scrub brushes, vacuum cleaner attachments, when using a 10 foot long pole to clean the bag houses and changing product sprays.

Equipment

Operate HTSTS, separators, P-6 or P-7 evaporators and dryers, stand alone finishers, and other equipment associated with these responsibilities-CIP systems etc. also must run all equipment that is required to check the finished product for moisture, fat, solids, WPN etc.

Employees will be subject to varying degrees of temperatures in the Warehouse. Personal protective equipment including, but not limited to: hearing protection, bump caps, hair and beard nets, gloves and eye protection must be used in the performance of duties. Proper lifting techniques must be employed at all times.
