Within the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) community setting,responsibletomaintaincompleteandaccuratemedicalrecords,incompliancewiththerulesand regulationsofallregulatoryagenciesand thestandardsof excellencepromotedbytheAmericanMedicalRecordsAssociation
EssentialFunctions :
- Ensuresproperadmissionsdocumentationperadmission procedures
- Assemble and complete all new charts with resident assignedmedical records number, name, physician name, or any otherinformationpertinenttotheresident
- Maintain residentchartsaccordingtoRecordsProcedureManualto meetregulationsandtoensureeaseofhandling
- Establishandmaintainachartalphabeticalfilingsystemforbothcurrentanddischargedresidentsinthemedicalrecordsoffice
- Followprocedures establishedinMedicalRecordsProcedureManualforreleasingresidentinformation
- Handle discharged residents' charts as outlined in Medical RecordsProceduresManual.Monitorforuncompletedrecordsornotes;
notifyappropriatedepartmentheadofanydeficiencies
- Enterallnecessary informationinthe"DeathRegistry"whenaresidentexpires
- Practicepositiveresidentrelations.Respondtoresidentandfamilyinquiries, concerns or problems according to service standards;
refer residentand / orfamilytosupervisorwhenappropriate
- Communicate and cooperate with other members of the multi disciplinaryhealthcareteam toaccomplishresidentcareplans
- Demonstraterespectfulandcourteousbehaviorinallinteractionswithresidents,families,staffandother visitorstotheHealthCenter
- The position requires ordering and stocking supplies for skilled nursing
- Position requires skilled staffing and scheduling C.N.A. & Nurses and may require taking phone calls after hours and weekends with compensation as Applicable
- Performsspecificworkdutiesandresponsibilitiesassignedbysupervisor
- Provideallauthorizedpersonswithdatafrommedicalrecordswhennecessaryandappropriate
- Adheretouniversalprecautionsandallotherinfection controlguidelines
- Demonstrateknowledgeofemergency policyandprocedures
- Maintains andprotectstheconfidentialityofresidentinfomationatalltimes
- Performallresponsibilitiesinasafe andefficientmanner, practice allsafetyandlosspreventionmethods
- Meet or exceed appearance, sanitation, hygiene and healthstandards

Qualifications :
- High Schooldiplomaorequivalent
- Goodknowledgeofmedicalterminology
- ExperienceusingMicrosoftOfficeandOutlooksoftware; basic typingskillsrequired
- Experienceintheseniorcareenvironmentpreferred
- Abletocommunicate effectivelywithalllevelsofmanagement,associates,residents,familymembers,and outsidecontacts
- Mustpossessapassiontoworkwithandaroundseniorcitizens
