CHIEF OBJECTIVES: The CNC operator will collaborate with or carry out the designs as dictated by the Project Manager and DraftsPerson-Designer. They may collaborate on fabrication methods, file creation, build schedules, and physical fabrication.
They will use the CNC machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Safely and efficiently operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc. according to predetermined deadlines.
Safely and efficiently prepare and load raw materials and parts onto machines
Set and supervise machines to complete full cycles to fabricate a large number of parts
Ensure the finished product meets high-quality standards. The CNC Operator may make adjustments to machines as needed to produce better results.
Alert the Shop Manager and Project Manager to issues with the project or parts
Collaborate with the Project Managers as needed to accurately create Build Schedules that align with needed turnaround times and budget requirements.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct routine maintenance of all CNC machinery, check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality, and complete daily shop/area organization and upkeep.
Prepare test runs to check if machines produce outputs according to specifications
Understand the specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function(s).
Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
Ability and a strong desire to follow all safety regulations
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
2 years of hands-on experience operating CNC Routers
Fluency in AutoCard and a working knowledge of Fusion360
Professional skill in operating precision measurement tools
Professional ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical documents, and drawings
Good math skills
A keen eye for detail
Results-Driven
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as a team
Must be a self-starter and be able to assess future issues
Strong sense of pre-production and ability to create a Build Schedule
Ability to clearly organize their work across multiple projects
Possess the desire to learn and grow skillset through diverse and challenging projects.
Possess a strong desire to learn and grow with the company.
General carpentry and scenic finishing skills are a plus
Fluency or general knowledge of VectorWorks a plus
Diploma, certificate, or equivalent in engineering or relevant discipline a plus
