BUS DRIVER
QUALIFICATIONS:
Background Check Required: (HB 402 ACT 99-361 Alabama Legislature) Upon offer of employment, employees will be required to submit legible fingerprints for a background review by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
REPORTS TO: Transportation Director and Principal
JOB GOAL: To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district’s curriculum and extracurricular program.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some squatting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. This job involves sitting for long periods.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to tasks that involve infrequent exposure to blood, bodily fluids or tissues. Risk involved with travel on main highway, side streets and rural roads during business travel, including evenings and weekends. Tasks that involve handling implements or utensils, use of public or shared bathroom facilities and personal contacts. Possible exposure to communicable diseases. Able to work a flexible schedule. Must be able to travel, enter, and exit a vehicle without assistance and withstand exposure to adverse weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Random drug tests may be performed.
EMPLOYMENT: This is a nine-month contract (183 days). Salary is based on the current salary schedule.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Support Personnel.
