Rooney Holdings, Inc. is a privately-held large, multi-faceted holding company with subsidiaries involved in several business sectors, with offices and operations in several locations in the Southwest and Southeast portions of the United States. Due to a recent department retirement, we are seeking an ASSISTANT CONTROLLER for our administrative services headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This position will work directly with the Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Controller and other key Executives, is responsible for all facets of the accounting operations including consolidation, period end journal entries, general ledger, accruals, account reconciliation, fixed assets, internal management reporting, timely administrative registrations, and tax filings.

THE POSITION REQUIRES:

• Educational requirements- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance. If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted from education.
• 15 years related accounting experience with a public or private company.
• Strong oral and written communications skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
• High degree of attention to detail
• More than 3 years experience supervising, directing and training teams.
• CPA preferred
• Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Experience reviewing and interpreting company policies and procedures, government regulations and developing policies and procedures to increase compliance.
• Ability to easily present financial data in clear and concise manner

PRIMARY DUTIES WILL BE TO:

• Designs and maintains operational procedures and processes that meet legal and regulatory standards.
• Ensures the accurate reporting and analysis of accounting data supporting annual audits.
• Involved in significant interaction with external auditors.
• Hires, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure operation of the accounting function.
• Manage the entire month, quarter and year-end closing process.
• Review and approve various journal entries and related reconciliations.
• Performs general accounting and consolidation (GL, Revenue and AR, Accruals, Cash, and Fixed Assets, balance sheet reserves, roll-forwards and account reconciliations)
• Drive automation of manual processes.
• Liaison with state tax auditors
• Oversee preparation of Joint Venture tax returns
• Coordinate federal and state tax payments.
