Plays a critical role in bringing University of Arizona news stories and major events to life effectively and consistently though compelling imagery.

• Works on the development, ideation, and execution of imagery to produce custom and specialized photography in house or on location, using various photographic equipment.
• Uses marketing and public relations best practices to capture images that galvanize target audiences.
• Collaborates with communications, marketing, and content strategy teams to advance business objectives through the use of photography.
• Imagery has an anticipated reach of over one million stakeholders; position will need to develop artistic and strategic plans for photography.
• This position is expected to work autonomously on various ongoing projects.

Conceptualizes and creates imagery to be used as the centerpiece of significant news stories, marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives.

• Creates imagery for both internal and external communications which include graphics, print material, resources, newsletters.
• Curates compelling imagery to represents the organization’s strategic priorities, messaging, and image.
• Researches, executes, and implements multimedia design and applications including text, audio, graphics, animation, video, and interactive elements.
• Works in partnership with the University Communications team and its partners to bring creative vision to life through effective lighting and composition.

Represents the unit as the art director on key photoshoot events.

• Attends events on campus and captures images for use in marketing and communications materials in both digital and printed formats.
• Maintaining and managing photography equipment.
• Determines camera setting, lighting requirements, and other specifications to ensure quality shooting.
• Ensures that the department has a credible and visible presence in broader University and community events.
• Direct the setup and maintenance of complex shoot events.
