Operating Room Nurse Manager

The Operating Room Nurse Manager oversees the daily operations of perioperative services within UF Health The Villages Hospital. You will work closely with the surgical team, ensuring efficient patient care and adherence to best practices. This role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leadership: Provide direction and guidance to the nursing staff in the operating room. Collaborate with other nurse leaders and hospital management to achieve departmental goals.
• Staff Management: Supervise Registered Nurses, Surgical Technologists, and ancillary support personnel. Ensure adequate staffing levels and maintain a positive work environment.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain quality standards in patient care. Implement evidence-based practices and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
• Patient Care Coordination: Coordinate patient flow, surgical schedules, and resource allocation. Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.
• Education and Training: Develop and deliver educational programs for staff. Support ongoing professional development and certification.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Master’s degree preferred.
• Licensure: Current Florida RN license.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of perioperative nursing experience. Leadership experience preferred.
• Certification: CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification from AORN or CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification from AST is desirable.
• Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
