Job Summary:
A design Engineer I is beginning-level building engineering work in the planning and design of new construction, and remodeling/expansion of existing state facilities. Responsible for performing challenging fire sprinkler layout and design work on multiple projects according to the contracted scope of work. Duties include coordinating design work with other trades. The designer will complete permit drawings per code requirements for submittal and approval to various state and local agencies. The employee receives work assignments and supervision from design manager but is expected to perform with considerable independence on projects assigned.
