The Quality Engineer ensures the company adheres to the Quality Control Plan to produce high quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Salary Rate: $85,000 -$125,0000 DOE Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Lead problem solving and root cause identification efforts for nonconforming product and customer complaints. • Work with other departments, such as Production, R&D, Planning and Procurement to develop and implement corrective action plans. • Verify effectiveness of corrective actions through various methods, such as audits and data collection and analysis. • Review and improve as needed the current QC test methods and procedures. • Work with R&D to develop quality standards and testing protocols for customer/product trials and qualifications. • Track and report quality metrics to the Quality Manager. • Visit customers and suppliers if necessary for quality incident investigations. May travel up to 25%. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Bachelor’s degree in engineering • Minimum 2 years’ experience in packaging manufacturing specifically in a Quality Engineering role. • Proficient in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. • Understanding of process capability and validation. • Auditing experience required. • Comprehensive knowledge of a Quality Management System and global standards, such as GFSI and ISO 9001. • Self-motivated and able to multi-task and change priorities as issues arise. • Excellent computer skills, particularly in the use of spreadsheets, databases, and statistical applications such as Minitab. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, including the ability to facilitate teams and work successfully in a team environment.
