Job Title:
Underground Utility / Pipe Foreman
Location:
Ft. Pierce, Port St. Lucie, Stuart, Hobe Sound, North Palm Beach
Compensation:
$26 - $30/hr. (based upon experience)
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Detailed understanding of underground utilities and installation of storm drainage, water and sanitary sewer lines, culverts, temporary road construction, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of the site and utility construction industry, such as site layout, site grading, excavation, above ground/underground utilities, and storm water drainage structures.
- Operate heavy machinery as necessary to excavate, install and backfill large pipe/culverts.
- Firm understanding and ability to shoot grades.
- Plan, organize, coordinate and supervise the daily activities of two or more crew members.
- Report and track all productions and progress of work.
- Work in open excavations or trench boxes installing pipe and/or drainage structures
- Ability to learn new projects prior to the start of construction via plans and field walkthroughs.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and enforcing them on site at all times.
- Help crew members to clean-up job site after work is done, place temporary asphalt patches or concrete on streets as needed.
- Performs preventive maintenance by greasing, oiling and making minor repair on equipment.
- Coordinate inspections with appropriate authorities.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years of experience in storm, water and/or sewer utilities.
- 1-2 years of experience in a foreman or supervisory position strongly preferred.
- OSHA 10/30 preferred (but not required)
- Valid driver's license
