Mid-Level Data Scientist - US Citizenship Required

Overview: One of our contracts under The Department of State is seeking a Mid-Level Data Scientist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing and transforming data into tangible insights to drive feature development and business decisions. This candidate must be able to identify customer needs and possess extensive knowledge of their field with the ability to collaborate with other highly specialized individuals and a cross-functional team.

Clearance Status: Interim Secret Clearance (minimum requirement) with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance

Work Schedule: 5 days per week onsite

Work Location: Springfield, VA

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate directly with an Agile Team to refine and optimize application development
• Perform analytic modeling, scripting, and programming
• Proactively identify customer needs and come up with creative solutioning to meet the team’s business requirements
• Develop and enhance data collection processes
• Able to analyze large data sets and effectively present data to stakeholders to shape and inform business decisions
• Develop, create, and integrate training data to fine tune LLM models, enhance existing models, and deploy models for real world use

Requirements:

• Candidate must be a United States Citizen and present proof of Citizenship, if selected
• Experience with the following languages: Python
• Experience with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres SQL and database engines such as Transact-SQL
• Ability to write clean and comprehensive code by utilizing common design patterns and best practices. (SOLID, DRY, and TDD)
• Experience visualizing and presenting data for stakeholders
• Capacity to work well independently and collaboratively
• Capable of supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
• Ability to adhere to timeline and manage time to achieve targets

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with the following Python libraries: OpenCV, Spacy, Pytesseract, NLTK, Sci-Kit Learn, Pandas, OpenAI, HuggingFace, LangChain, LlamaIndex
• Experience with LLMS/RAG/Fine-Tuning/Grounding/etc.
• Familiarity or experience with frontend frameworks such as Angular or React
• Experience or familiarity with the following languages and libraries: Typescript, JavaScript, NGRX, RXJS, and d3
