HR Coordinator

Location: Spring Lake, MI

Shift: 1st shift, M-F

Pay: $21-$25/hour

Job Summary-

This position reports directly to the Human Resources Manager. The Human Resources Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the HR department in various administrative tasks and ensuring smooth operations. They are responsible for assisting with recruitment, safety, onboarding, employee relations, and HR compliance activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities-

  • Assist in posting job vacancies internally and externally.
  • Screen resumes and applications to identify potential candidates.
  • Schedule and conduct phone screens for hourly positions.
  • Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Coordinate pre-employment background checks and drug screening & physicals.
  • Coordinate new hire orientations and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process by providing information to new employees about company policies, benefits, and procedures.
  • Work closing with hiring manager to ensure a smooth transition for new hires into their roles.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, attendance records, and performance evaluations.
  • Assist with data entry and ensure compliance with record-keeping regulations.
  • Assist with compliance-related activities including knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries and issues.
  • Assist in resolving employee concerns and conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment and changes.
  • Coordinate training sessions and workshops for employees.

Qualifications-

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business Administration, or related field preferred or being obtained with graduation date.
  • Experience in an HR role or similar in a manufacturing setting.

Skills-

  • Understanding of general HR policies and procedures.
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws.
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Aptitude in problem solving.
  • Able to build and maintain good working relationships with a wide variety of personalities and levels of staff members.
  • Dependable and trustworthy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and be able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Positive attitude.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements-

  • Office setting in manufacturing facility
  • Will be near moving and mechanical parts from time to time.
  • Moderate noise levels.
  • Fast-paced.
  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Adaptable to 2 different manufacturing and office facilities
