Marsh McLennan Agency-Northwest is Hiring a Risk Control Specialist Near Spokane, WA

Overview

Marsh McLennan Agency is looking for an analytical and autonomous risk control professional to join our Client Services team. Our ideal candidate will be a skilled safety and compliance consultant, effective communicator and client advocate adept at collaborating across our company and our diverse client base. This individual will live and breathe our core values by contributing to a vital resource that supports MMA’s clients and colleagues.

At MMA, we will give you access to mentorship, training, resources, and development to ensure your success but you will need to supply the ambition. Our colleagues don’t stop short of excellence and are driven to do what is best for their clients and fellow colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage your education and risk control experience to serve as a client advocate to achieve resolution of complex safety and compliance issues.
  • Develop and help clients implement training programs for safety and compliance and assist clients with OSHA’s informal conference for penalties.
  • Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of OSHA (and other regulatory agencies, where appropriate) mandated programs and required documentation.
  • Serve as a liaison between carriers and clients to ensure a clear understanding of risk control and risk management issues.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to lead meetings and/or special projects and be a resource for training and new business initiatives.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers (internal and external) and insurance carriers through effective communication.
  • Share your knowledge and expertise with others through educational offerings in your area(s) of expertise.
  • Actively participate in organizational initiatives and support core values; including but not limited to driving and promoting community involvement of others.

Qualifications

  • You’re a risk control expert. You’re an experienced and skilled insurance professional adept at leveraging your knowledge to advocate for your clients. We prefer that you hold a degree related to risk management and/or safety and a minimum of 10 years of insurance agency or carrier experience working in a role focused on risk control. Plus, we strongly prefer that you have experience in one or both of our two largest specialty practices; Construction and Agribusiness. Ideally, we would also prefer that you hold current and applicable state insurance licensure.
  • You love to learn. You’re earnest about filling in any gaps in knowledge through professional development. You either hold an industry designation (Certified Safety Professional, Associate Safety Professional, etc.) or show a strong willingness to attain one.
  • You’re an exceptional communicator. You are able to collaborate with key stakeholders at all levels. You have an innate ability to present concepts both visually and verbally.
  • You have project management experience
  • You’re good with people, even on the tough days. Being a helpful colleague is just part of who you are, and you love making people happy.
  • You’re team oriented. You maintain positive relationships with your colleagues—and you enjoy it.
  • You’re that person everyone can depend on—to make deadlines and to be accurate and complete.
  • You’re tech-savvy. You boast extensive experience and working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other technology products.
  • You embrace our core values: accountability, balance, excellence, integrity, respect and humanity.

We know there are excellent candidates who might not check all of these boxes. Don't be shy. If you're close, we'd be very interested in meeting you.

The Perks:

We take pride in providing our colleagues with a competitive compensation package; we will honor all local and state salary thresholds. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. The salary range for this position is $60,930-$106,680/year. Additionally, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives, annual profit sharing and a benefits package that includes paid paternity/maternity leave, medical leave, 401K savings and other wellbeing programs. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Who you are is who we are.

We embrace a culture that celebrates and promotes the many backgrounds, heritages and perspectives of our colleagues and clients. We are always seeking those with ethics, talent, and ambition who are interested in joining our client-focused teams.
