SUMMARY

Works with the Financial Controller to direct the accounting activities of the organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare monthly financial statements.

• Oversees Accounts Payable Department.

• Maintains the general ledger as well as indirect responsibility for all sub-ledgers.

• Timely completion of all accounting procedures to accomplish general accounting objectives.

• Compliance with accounting requirements to include but not limited to meeting scheduled report dates, special requests for financial information and adherence to accounting practices and policies.

• Assists Financial Controller with coordinating activities of external auditor including preparing account reconciliations, preparing materials for review and responding to auditor’s requests for information.

• Prepares reports by regulatory agencies, and federal, state and local tax returns as directed by the Director of Administration.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, extensive general ledger capabilities, and a minimum of five years of experience as Accounting Manager. Demonstrated experience in all phases of accounting and supervisory responsibility for at least 3 staff. Experience in computer accounting with additional experience using personal computer software, with a knowing knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet analysis software.
