About the role:

Allogene is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the HR team. Reporting to the CPO, you will be a key member of the HR team as well as the Technology Operations Leadership team (which includes Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Process and Product Development). You will serve as the point HRBP for Tech Ops, which comprises nearly half of the overall company. You will be working across a broad variety of areas, including working with leaders to recruit, mentor, retain and grow their staff, assist with furthering the training and development program, handling employee relations matters, helping to cultivate the company culture and other projects as needed. This role will split time between the headquarters in South San Francisco, CA and the manufacturing facility in Newark, CA.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Partner with the Operations Technology function to provide HR support
  • Be a key member of a lean HR team to provide leadership across the organization as needed
  • Recruit, interview candidates and assist the talent acquisition team
  • Partner with managers and leaders to assess the performance of their teams to assist in career planning, retention and growth
  • Partner with management to mitigate and/or resolve employee relations issues
  • Consult and coach management and employees
  • Drive the annual performance review process
  • Communicate company policies and provide recommendations on how to improve internal processes
  • Further the training and development programs for the organization
  • Assist with planning company events and cross-functional activities
  • Other duties as needed

Position Requirements & Experience:

  • Experience in Human Resources with some in a management role preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company (start-up and public company experience a plus)
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Willingness to think outside of the box and adapt best practices to our small, but growing environment
  • Elegant approach to employee relations issues
  • Familiarity with Federal and California state laws, OSHA, and FDA compliance
  • Exceptional attention-to-detail with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to adapt in a constantly evolving environment
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibility
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally and influence across the organization at all levels
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established timelines
  • Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S

The expected salary range for this role is $200,000 – $240,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, business needs, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
