FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER
Summary:
The Sioux City Explorers are part of the American Association and are located in Sioux City, Iowa. The Explorers will host not only 50 home baseball games, but also potentially events outside the normal league schedule. Our ballpark has a capacity of approximately 3,500 fans, including a Party Deck and (4) Luxury Suites. There are six main concession windows operating out of the main concession stand in the main concourse, several portable locations, with storage and cooler/freezer storage underneath the stadium.
Responsibilities:
The Food and Beverage Director will be responsible for all aspects of the club’s day to
day food and beverage operations, which include:
· Menu creation, purchasing, pricing, food preparation/presentation, working with vendors, financial management/reporting, etc.
· Leading a staff of approximately 25 part-time employees to include;
· Managing / Maintaining Food & Labor Costs and Inventory Levels to club’s expectations
· Maintaining equipment and operational cleanliness at all times
· Prepare all team meals necessary throughout the season
· Responsible for all catering related to Party Deck and Suite Level guests
· Bring fun and creativity to the Food & Beverage experience benefiting all fans at Lewis & Clark Park
· Operate the department in compliance with all state and local health department rules and regulations
This position is a hands-on position in which the ideal candidate will be expected to create a great culture amongst the Food & Beverage staff while always striving to provide a top-notch experience for the fans. The position requires independent thinking and a desire to work hard each day to improve the department
Requirements:
· College or Culinary/Trade School degree preferred;
· 5 years supervisory experience in Food & Beverage Field;
· Must present and communicate in a professional manner;
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
· Must be organized with good time-management skills;
· Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications;
· Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals;
· Must have a current Serve-Safe Certification.
Working conditions:
· A mix of kitchen, concession, warehouse, outdoor and office environment;
· Can be prolonged periods of standing;
· Long hours will require nights, weekends, holidays; and
