The Junior Assistant position is part of the Finance department. This position will be involved in all aspects of corporate accounting and reports to the Controller.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Participate in monthly close process. Prepare monthly journal entries with proper supporting documentation. Analyze and investigate variances.
· Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations for prepaids, accrued expenses, fixed assets and various other accounts.
· Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
· Assist with tax filings and other governmental/compliance reporting.
· Assist Accounts Payable with processing invoices as directed by Controller.
· Assist the CFO and Controller with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Development
· Continuous education regarding US GAAP compliance, tax regulations, and company processes and procedures.
Accounting Assistant Requirements
· Minimum 1-3 years of similar accounting experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
· Proficiency in Excel and MSOffice
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
· Strong ability to plan for and meet necessary deadlines (financial reporting, tax filings, audit, etc.)
· Must be able to ability to take initiative and work independently
· Able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to re-prioritize when needed
· Improvement mindset with a natural aptitude to continually learn
· Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred
