Tate’s Bake Shop is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join the Finance Team. As Accounts Receivable Specialist, you would be responsible for processing, recording, balancing, and reconciling a variety of accounts receivable transactions. You would also manage customer accounts and reconcile discrepancies. Your strong communications skills will help you communicate effectively with both internal teams and external customers to resolve payment issues.

What can you expect on the job?

Payment Processing

Receive and process payments from customers through various methods, including checks, credit card payments, and electronic fund transfers. Apply payments to customers accurately and timely.

Account Reconciliation

Reconcile customer accounts to ensure that payments match outstanding balances. Investigate and resolve billing errors or discrepancies.

Collections

Follow up with customers who have overdue invoices. Send reminders, statements, or collection notices as necessary.

Aging Reports

Generate and review accounts receivable aging reports regularly to track outstanding invoices and prioritize collection efforts. Report on past due amounts to management,

What will make you successful in the role?

• 2 years’ experience in working with accounting software and databases.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel to export and analyze large sets of data.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Physical requirements:
  • Frequently move about the Company’s locations to pick up documents.
  • Frequently position self to transport documents.
  • Occasional exposure to loud noise or extremely heat/cold from pick up and drop off locations.
  • Constantly communicate to management and reporting team.
  • Ability to review documentation constantly and follow/respond to email communication.

What should you bring?

• High School diploma required.
• Associates degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred.
• 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, preferably in the consumer-packaged goods industry.
• NetSuite experience a plus.

What will your schedule look like?

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Location

• Hybrid.
• Travel to Shirley, NY, and East Moriches, NY as needed.
