We are partnering with a rapidly growing, mission driven Healthcare organization in Greater Portland for their Director of Finance/Controller opening. ***You must live in Maine, New Hampshire, Virginia, South Carolina, or Florida, and while this position is mostly remote, you must be available to travel to Maine a few times per year. The Director of Finance/Controller plans, organizes and directs all aspects of the finance department including the development of policies for finance, accounting, insurance, internal controls, budgets, audits, payroll, benefits and claims processing. Ensures that appropriate financial controls are in place. Participates in and advises about business plans, new business development and contracting. Oversees the Finance and Business Office functions for the practice.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:• Ensures the smooth execution of all practice financial and accounting policies, procedures and systems.• Directs and presents financial reports and forecasts to the board of directors, senior leaders, regulatory agencies and others. • Provides analysis of general economic, business, industry and financial trends and their impact upon the practice. Prepares financial projections (and assumptions) for use in the business planning process.• Develops the practice’s cash flow, liquidity and other financial policies for the organization. • Oversees the annual budgeting process for the practice, including operating and capital budgets.• Represents the practice with regulatory agencies. Coordinates and collaborates with external auditors in the planning and preparation of year-end financial reports and statements.• Collaborates with external and internal partners in the development of strategic objectives and executes the practice’s short and long term financial goals.• Provides meaningful analysis and recommendations on all practice financial policies and processes. • Supervises the Accounting and Payroll Specialists, Financial Advocate, Compliance and Business Office Managers, ensuring functional objectives are met. • Evaluates department operations and systems to maximize integration, technology and people.• Recruits, coaches, develops, manages, motivates, evaluates and retains staff.• Participates in community organizations and events; trade group meetings to remain current on industry issues.• Develops company guidelines and provides financial analysis and guidance for effective contract negotiation.
