We are currently seeking an experienced human resource professional to fill the Human Resources Manager position in the County of Santa Barbara Public Health Department. The position is categorized as a Program/Business Leader – General classification within the County’s leadership series.

THE POSITION: The Human Resources Manager reports directly to the Deputy Director of Administration in the Public Health Department and oversees a team of 6 human resources staff. In this role, you will apply your knowledge and experience in the following areas, including but not limited to: employee relations; investigations; protected leave; performance management; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI); and the overall administration of the Public Health Department Human Resources policies and procedures. This work involves confidentiality, accountability and decision-making responsibilities. Additionally, this role works collaboratively, but exercises a high-level of independence. The incumbent will provide consultation and direct services to 500 employees and executives in the Public Health Department.
