Boarhog LLC is Hiring a Contracts Administrator Near San Diego, CA

Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Contracts Administrator to support our Defense Industrial Base (DIB) prime and subcontractor clients and government customers. The Contracts Administrator will play a vital role in supporting our contracts management processes, ensuring compliance with government regulations, facilitating successful contract execution, and profitability across our portfolio of programs.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the lifecycle of contracts from initiation to closeout, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contract terms and conditions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries and issues, both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and program management, to ensure contract compliance and successful project delivery.
  • Monitor contract performance, track deliverables, and report on contract status to stakeholders.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate contractual risks.
  • Maintain accurate contract records and documentation in accordance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Stay informed about changes in government regulations and industry best practices related to contract administration.
Qualifications:
  • Advanced knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS): Understanding the regulations governing federal government contracting is essential for managing contracts effectively within the defense sector.
  • 5 years of experience in contract administration, minimum of 3 years of experience in a government contracting environment.
  • Experience with various government contract types is important for negotiating and administering contracts, including Firm-Fixed Price (FFP), Time & Materials (T&M), Cost-Reimbursement (CPFF/CPAF/CPIF), and hybrid contracts,
  • Contract management expertise. Ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts, as well as administer contract modifications, change orders, and task orders.
  • Understanding of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Awareness of CUI regulations and requirements, including handling, storage, and transmission of sensitive information, is crucial for compliance in defense contracts.
  • Financial acumen: Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and spend plans in accordance with funding terms of the contracts. Know how and work with Accounting to manage CLINs and/or ACRNs to ensure accurate forecasting, monitoring contract performance, and managing project budgets.
  • Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effectively communicating with internal stakeholders, government agencies, subcontractors, and other external parties involved in the contracting process.
  • Attention to detail: Ability to maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance with contractual requirements, including maintaining contract files, tracking deliverables, and reporting.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making: Capacity to identify and resolve contract-related issues, mitigate risks, and make informed decisions to ensure project success and compliance.
  • Takes initiative. Recognizes what needs to be done and does it, keeping the operations and administration team informed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) designation.
  • Familiarity with ITAR and EAR regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of contract management principles and practices.
Additional Hiring Decision Considerations:
  • U.S. military veteran preferred but not required
  • Reside in or agree to move into a SBA designated Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) desirable but not required
  • Resident of a State in which Boarhog is already registered for payroll tax purposes: New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Nevada, California, Illinois, Arizona, and Pennsylvania
