**Overview:**

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Independent Contractor Attorney to provide legal services on a contract basis. You will have the freedom, flexibility, and compensation of being your own boss without the significant overhead. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in at least one of the following areas: family, criminal defense, estate, small business; and be able to manage multiple client matters with minimal supervision. You will have complete autonomy to choose your specialty and your cases. Utah Flat Rate Law is a virtual law office that services the entire state. You can live anywhere in the state, so long as you can travel to court appearances when required.

**Responsibilities:**

• Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on various matters within your area of expertise.
• Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents including contracts, agreements, and corporate governance documents.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices.
• Make and organize frequent court appearances.
• Maintain contact with clients.
• Comfortable talking to new clients and selling your expertise.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and potentially in court.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Work collaboratively with other attorneys and legal professionals as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of client information and adhere to ethical standards of the legal profession.

**Qualifications:**

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the bar in Utah.
• Minimum 3 years of experience practicing law in the relevant field(s).
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client matters simultaneously.
• Proficiency in using legal research tools and software.

**Compensation**:

• Set your own Flat Rate per case
• Firm covers marketing & receptionist costs
• Potential for long-term engagement based on performance and client needs.
• Current attorneys for firm averaging 3-5 new cases per week within 2 months
