We are currently seeking aManufacturing Engineer to join our team to support the expansion and continued success of our new production area at our growing manufacturing facility in North Carolina. The ideal candidate would be a self-starting, hands on manufacturing process engineer who will provide process leadership and support of overall plant objectives, while becoming the subject matter expert for the process of manufacturing composite cylinders.
Responsibilities :
  • Serve as the process expert and primary resource for all matters pertaining to the cylinder manufacturing process.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that will enhance safety, quality and productivity related to the production process.
  • Identify and resolve technical concerns that may arise in the production process.
  • Lead root cause analysis and error proofing activities to ensure the implementation of effective countermeasures.
  • Become a key contributor in the ramp-up and continued success of new production equipment.
  • Work independently and with others to identify, implement and track cost savings ideas.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer's procedures and instructions are followed to keep production equipment operational.
  • Collaborate with experts at other locations to ensure alignment.
  • Train staff for new processes and provide instructions and manuals.
  • New equipment specification, selection, installation, and prove out.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Credentials And Experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering or similar technical degree preferred.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry (i.e. aerospace, automotive)
Knowledge of:
  • The field of mechanical measurement
  • Practical experience with ERP systems
  • Practical experience with solid modeling and drafting
  • Exposure to forming plastics; extrusion, injection molding, blow molding
  • Lean principles and tools
  • Excellent computer skills including high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • 3D CAD modeling and PDM software (experience with CREO is an asset)
  • General computer skills and proficiency with standard office software

  • Ability to lead and work with diverse teams
  • Work under pressure
  • Be self-motivated with good troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Communicate complex information to all levels of employees and customers both verbally and written
  • Assess workload and develop priorities in a fast-growing organization
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
