Mississippi State University is Hiring an Assistant Equipment Manager (Olympic Sports) Near Starkville, MS

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the equipment room(s) for assigned sports.
- Coordinate with the team operations personnel to meet equipment needs for assigned sports.
- Responsible for ordering of Adidas apparel and Adidas budget management for assigned sports.
- As necessary, assist team operations personnel in ordering of sport specific equipment.
- As required, ensure athletic equipment is properly set-up, cleaned, packed, transported and stored for practice and games, both home and away.
- As required, execute fitting of all athletes in sport specific equipment ensuring proper fit and compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with Athletic Department’s shipping and receiving centralized facility.
- Maintain detailed inventory records of all Adidas apparel for assigned sports.
- For assigned sports, assist team operations personnel with managing locker and equipment room areas and for monitoring and advising on the security of these areas.
- Assist in laundry operations of assigned sports, including, but not limited to, all game day laundry.
- Comply with all applicable National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Southeastern Conference (SEC) regulations in the performance of job duties.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- This position will assist in supervising sport specific student manger staff as well as equipment room student managers.
Certification Or Licensure RequirementsCommercial Driver’s License eligible; must be certified by AEMA or working towards certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience beyond the minimum; 1-2 years of relevant full-time experience.
- Knowledge of Inventory management system.
- Knowledge of proper helmet and shoulder pad fitting.
- Ability to work long and irregular hours.
- Ability to travel.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
- Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion. Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dirt, chemicals, etc.
- Job frequently requires walking, standing, lifting, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and handling objects with hands.
- Requires handling of heavy weight objects up to 100 lbs. on a regular basis and on occasion up to 150 lbs.
- Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
