What You Will Do:
As a Physical Therapist, the employee supports the overall Mission and Vision of Valley Health by providing the highest quality and best-practice service to its customers. Physical Therapist may be employed in any one of the rehab settings, is an active member of the interdisciplinary team, is responsive to physician referrals, determines the skilled and medically necessary needs of the patient and provides discipline specific interventions to improve the safety and functional independence of its clients through the rehab process. Feedback from the Physical Therapist II is critical to determine and recommend the patient's progression through the continuum of care. The Physical Therapist is responsible for establishing and maintaining professional competence, identifying educational needs and seeking out learning opportunities from more advanced clinicians and specific continuing education, and in providing mentorship to less experienced therapists. The Physical Therapist is mindful of the fiduciary responsibilities and delivers rehabilitation services in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to licensure, documentation and billing guidelines, and initiates research of best practices for program development and process improvement initiatives. What You Will Bring:
Education
Post Graduate Certificate, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy. Has completed CI credentialing course, home study adult learning course, or equivalent (up to one year to complete after hire)
Certification & Licensures
West Virginia PT licensure or eligible required
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required *
* New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
Qualifications
Basic computer and keyboarding skills or participation in computer training within the first year of employment. Competent to successfully interact with patients, according to their special needs which may apply based upon the age of the patient served - Age Specific Competencies. Exhibiting and demonstrating consistent proficiency for advanced level, setting defined, competency in the provision of discipline specific interventions. Demonstrates consistent proficiency for Basic Competency in the provision of discipline specific interventions.
