Wyckoff Farms Inc is a large, vertically integrated, Eastern Washington agricultural, food & beverage processing organization in search of a Quality Assurance Lead to join our IQF team.

Job Description

This position reports to the Director of QA/QC and the Quality Assurance Manager / Supervisor and helps the Quality Assurance Supervisor lead the day-to-day functions of the Quality Control Technicians and Quality Control Leads as well as review of daily computer input and paperwork. The Quality Assurance Lead with the assistance of the QA Manager/ Supervisor will ensure that GMP standards are being followed to ensure the manufacture of safe, quality product that meets all company, customer, and regulatory food safety and quality standards. The Quality Assurance Lead will also ensure that the Quality Control Technicians are maintaining inventory documentation, such as printing and verifying Pallet Label information, review daily paperwork, review daily dump tags, update lot data on information board, maintain adequate supplies at inventory stations and provide breaks/lunches. The Quality Assurance Lead assigns the daily duties to the Quality Control Technicians and Quality Control Leads and will assist workers in resolving technical problems by helping interpret standards and procedures. The Quality Assurance Lead will report any unresolved problem to the Quality Assurance Manager / Supervisor. The Quality Assurance Lead may perform duties of absent workers to maintain work schedules. The Quality Assurance Lead must be able to interact across inter-departmental boundaries in a professional, proactive manner, avoiding conflicts and exemplifying a collaborative spirit.

Duties may include and are not limited to the following.

verifies/records and correct materials are being utilized for the production of all finished goods including films, boxes, labels, Code Dates, weights, product, metal detection, including proper sensitivity (as required), and physical contamination prevention requirements.

Verifies proper HACCP critical control points are being maintained and recorded properly.

Coordinates all “QA Hold” prior to production being staged in warehouse.

Detains out of specification product by writing Hold Tags and maintaining Hold Log.

Maintains daily Lot Code Tracking Database.

Maintains Foreign Material Database.

Informs QA Supervisor of any adjustments needed on QA scoresheets or SOPs.

Verifies/records/performs proper metal detection requirements.

Coordinates weight control records and completes required weight checks.

Assures samples are pulled for evaluation in lab.

Assures proper calibration of equipment including scales, pH meter, refractometer, thermometers and other equipment as required.

Evaluates structural integrity of packages.

Keeps inventory of any needed supplies and reports to Director of QA/QC or QA Supervisor.

Swabs machines and other equipment as required, records result on proper records and files accordingly.

Color

Appearance

Conducts Analysis testing of product:

a. pH

b. Brix

c. Howard Mold Count

d. Temperature

  • Reports above findings to responsible personnel and Director of QA/QC or QA Supervisor in a timely manner to facilitate production.
  • Understand the allergen program to prevent product contamination.
  • Collect samples of finished product from the packaging line and completing the required documentation as required.
  • Files all paperwork in proper place as required.
  • Inspects packaging materials prior to run and throughout the production run.
  • Reports noted deficiencies to Director of QA/QC or QA Supervisor.
  • Maintains QA housekeeping standards.
  • Performs monthly GMP audits.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of QA/QC or QA Manager / Supervisor.
  • Print/place pallet labels on pallets.
  • Collect Raw Dump Sheets
  • Verify Information on labels matches pallets being tagged.
  • Maintain Pallet Information Log Sheet
  • Collect Box/Time Control Sheet.
  • Other Job Functions:
  • Follow GMP and SOP guidelines.
  • Attend required training, safety and departmental meetings.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner following safety training.
  • Participates in meetings.
  • Train others.
  • Daily review of Quality Control Paperwork
  • Daily computer entry to maintain quality standards.

Work Environment:

· Our Shifts During Non-Harvest Times Late August-May are 10 hr. shifts Monday through Thursday 6 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. – Harvest times Normally late June to Mid-August will be 12 hour shifts 7 days a week. 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. and 6 P.M. to 6 A.M.

· Production food manufacturing environment with large scale equipment.

· Moving machinery.

Pay and Benefits: DOQ.

Pay: $23.50 - $26.00 per hour
