We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk in Poway, California, for an exciting opportunity in the municipality industry. This role involves providing office support related to customer accounts, processing financial transactions, and handling customer inquiries related to water utility billing and business registration. The role also requires the maintenance of customer accounts and ensures efficient processing of accounts receivable.Responsibilities:• Process and monitor accounting receivables and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures• Perform daily financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables’ data• Provide specific account information and resolve any discrepancies• Enter and retrieve data from a computer system accurately and efficiently• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted• Identify discrepancies and report to the supervisor• Assist customers and employees by providing information on basic accounting procedures• Respond to customer inquiries related to water utility billing, business registration, policies and procedures, service fees, rates, and procedures• Assist customers in person at a public agency• Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
