St. Clair County Community Mental Health Authority is Hiring an Account Clerk Near Port Huron, MI

St. Clair County Community Mental Health is seeking a full-time Account Clerk to join our growing team!

Salary Range: $41,744.00 - $46,927.00 per year

37.5 Hour Work Week, Monday-Friday

An employee in this classification is required to perform some or all of the following duties, however these do not include all of the tasks which the employee may be expected to perform: bookkeeping and clerical work involving maintenance of ledgers, journals, and other records/reports; prepare miscellaneous accounts receivable invoices; review and submit 3rd party billings for services rendered; backup for processing cash receipts and deposits for monies received; accept credit card payments from clients; create and send 3rd party claims for Medicare, Blue Cross, other insurances, Self Pay and all claims to PIHP; enter all payments/denials from such insurances and research/rebill unpaid or denied claims; comply with Alcohol & Drug Testing Policy (06-001-0010) and Background Check Policy (06-001-0015), as well as supervisors/designee directives; maintain confidentiality.

An individual in this role has...

-High School Diploma or general educational development (GED) certificate

-Valid Michigan Driver’s license

- Three years’ recent experience in 1st & 3rd Party Billing

- Ability to obtain passing score in Microsoft Word, Access and/or Excel testing

- College classes in general business and/or accounting orAssociate Degree, business school graduate in accounting

- Certified Professional Biller (CPB)/Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

- More than 3 years’ experience, some within a CMH setting

- Lived experience with behavioral health issues

St. Clair County Community Mental Health is a county-based behavioral health provider. We offer services and supports to adults with mental illness, children with serious emotional disturbances, persons of all ages with intellectual/developmental disabilities, and persons of all ages with substance use disorders.
