TRAM is Hiring a General Accountant Near Plymouth, MI

SUMMARY:We are looking for someone who has the ability and desire to be a well-rounded, go to person in our Accounting & Finance Department. The person in this role will play an active role in helping the company achieve our operational and financial goals.
General Accounting / Analysis Activities:
  • Perform General Ledger Account reconciliations
  • Create Journal Entries using your solid understanding of basic general accounting functions
  • Perform Variance analysis (Budget vs. Actual)
  • Participate in month end / quarter end / year end close activities; including financial statement and reporting package preparation
  • Prepare various financial reports and ad-hoc analysis
  • Retain source data and authorization for audit purposes; following standard process and adhering to internal accounting controls (J-SOX)
  • Complete various internal and external audit requests
  • Support Government Reporting; online filing of Census forms, etc
  • Other requests as needed
Cash Management Support Activities:
  • Confirm daily bank transactions / Log and update daily Cash Flow and Cash Flow Forecast
  • Balance all TRAM Bank Accounts; ensuring accuracy
  • Initiate ACH and Wire payments
  • Create and upload accounting system files to bank website for bulk ACH payments
  • Send list of accounts payable check numbers to bank for authorization of use
  • Post accounts payable checks to accounting system
  • Prepare daily journal entries to record daily bank transactions; ensuring accuracy
  • Retain source data and authorization for audit purposes; following standard process and adhering to internal accounting controls (J-SOX)
  • Others requests as needed
Accounts Payable Support Activities:
  • Reconcile supplier statements to sub-ledger
  • Responsible for relationship with key sister company suppliers – reconciling TRAM Accounts Payable to Supplier Accounts Receivable monthly, and breaking out activity by category as required by parent company
General Expectations of The Role:
  • Plymouth, MI is the home base for this position
  • Infrequent travel may be needed occasionally
  • Once trained, Hybrid Work From Home option is available
  • Intermittent overtime to meet deadlines
  • Attend meetings to investigate and improve processes and to support other departments
