DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Career Advisor, you will be expected to maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers and partners along with maintaining knowledge of applicable workforce development laws and policies.
You will have the opportunity to provide employment services to both employers and job seekers. These services will include guidance and assessment, providing current labor market information, and promoting Promote PA CareerLink services to businesses, community organizations, and the public.
Communicating professionally both orally and in writing, documenting activities and services in the Commonwealth Workforce Development System (CWDS), and traveling as required will be included in your duties.
You will gain experience in organizing and delivering workshops and orientations, coaching on resume writing, interviewing skills, job search strategies, networking, and other relevant topics.
You will also learn to coordinate services using a case management approach, helping jobseekers set employment goals, create Individual Employment Plans (IEPs), and track progress towards these goals.
Work Schedule and Additional Information :
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Philadelphia.
