Pennsauken Public Schools is Hiring a Director of Secondary Education Near Pennsauken, NJ
- Works with the Director of Elementary/Secondary Education to supervise and evaluate all K-12 subject area supervisors in accordance with the Board of Education Policy.
- Plans, with appropriate staff members, all matters pertaining to the elementary/ secondary programs.
- Determines with the elementary/secondary administrators needs of the schools; orders appropriate instructional materials, equipment, and supplies within the budgetary allocations.
- Coordinates the services of all special areas including library, art, music, physical education, remedial reading, remedial mathematics, computers, and speech on the elementary/secondary level in order that each will be viewed from the standpoint of its contribution and effect on the elementary/secondary school programs.
- Plans with principals and teachers for such meetings as shall be needed to further the professional growth of the elementary/secondary staff.
- Assists principals and teachers with instructional problems in the elementary & secondary schools.
- Plans with appropriate staff members the development and use of curricular materials.
- Assumes responsibility for the testing program of the elementary/secondary schools; interprets and reviews results with elementary/secondary administrators and appropriate personnel.
- Interprets and reviews results with elementary/secondary administrators and appropriate personnel.
- Plans and coordinates a program of evaluation of personnel with a view to increasing their effectiveness.
- Assumes responsibility for recruiting, interviewing, and recommending candidates for employment to the superintendent of schools.
- Plans, coordinates, and evaluates with appropriate administrators, the conduct and effectiveness of Basic Skills, and English as a Second Language Programs in Elementary/Secondary Schools.
- Completes required reports promptly and accurately.
- Conducts administrative meetings as needed.
- Supervise and evaluates professional and non-professional personnel in accordance with Administrative Codes and Board of Education Policies.
- Shall be responsible for any other duties that may be assigned
- Valid New Jersey Supervisor, School Administrator or Principal Certificate
- Minimum experience as determined by the board
- Demonstrate leadership in school improvement, program development, strategic planning
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
