The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for planning and developing quality policies and procedures that define the quality objectives, standards, and criteria for the organization. These policies and procedures will be effectively communicated, implemented, and maintained across all levels and functions of the organization. The Quality Assurance Manager will use various quality methods and techniques, such as audits, inspections, testing, statistical process control, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and continuous improvement to identify and resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence. This position works closely with cross-functional teams to optimize processes, resolve internal and external quality issues, and enhance product quality and customer satisfaction. Incumbents must have a customer-focused mindset and be comfortable interacting with customers in diverse markets and geographies. Willingly perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
  • Plans, implements, and directs quality program consistent with ISO9001 quality system.
  • Leads and records company’s quality management review meetings.
  • Serves as the liaison with 3rd party auditing and evaluation organizations.
  • Evaluates current quality system, identifies areas for improvement, initiates, and implements quality improvement activities.
  • Designs, implements, and updates quality system documentation process/product control and improvement.
  • Establishes rework standards by devising inspection and physical testing methods and procedures.
  • Leads efforts in identifying root cause of internal and external quality issues based on information gathered and/or historical trends and establishing corrective actions; following up to ensure effective resolution.
  • Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers.
  • Establishes in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods, devising testing methods and procedures.
  • Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Oversees collection and analysis of statistical data to predict trends and make recommendations for improvement of product quality.
  • Drives continuous improvement through the strengthening of quality tools, skills, infrastructure, and process improvements required to achieve business objectives.
  • Maintain up-to-date calibration and verification records for all measuring equipment.
  • Contributes to go/no-go decisions regarding product quality.
  • Monitors the approved supplier and supplier evaluation processes.
  • Establish quality specifications for incoming raw materials with Purchasing, monitoring these raw materials to ensure that specifications are met. Setting requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitoring their compliance
  • Educates and trains employees on the quality management system.
  • Completes quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results.
  • Maintains quality assurance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, directing work, rewarding, disciplining employees, performance reviews, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, self-motivation, attention to detail and be able to manage multiple projects.

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems, and positively persuade and influence others..
  • Knowledge of inspection, test and measurement techniques, including statistical analysis and sampling techniques, to study quality problems in federal and various market environments.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to interact with others, facilitate team operations, prepare reports, policies, and other documentation, and make presentations.
  • Effective interpersonal and leadership skills to provide one-on-one training as necessary in order to establish and promote an effective quality focused company culture promoting continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality assurance.
  • Familiarity and experience maintaining ISO 9001 and ISO 13485:2016 standards.
  • Internal or external auditing experience.
