Job Overview

Top Notch is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resource Generalist to join our growing team. The HR Generalist will provide comprehensive guidance and support for compliance, recruitment, orientation/onboarding, payroll, performance management, benefits, employee engagement, workers’ compensation, leave of absence administration, and HR policy guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all Company policies, procedures and appropriate governmental regulations are communicated and followed.
  • Fosters and maintains programs that promote a positive working environment such as “open door communications,” incentives, employee performance management, and birthday/anniversary recognition.
  • Responsible for recruiting, including postings, selection, and presentation of employment offers. Manages E-Verify onboarding requirements.
  • Conducts new hire orientation to ensure seamless on-boarding with new employees; reviews and enters new hire paperwork for processing.
  • Manages and administers benefit plans such as life, health, and Company 401(k) Plan.
  • Partner with brokers and relationship managers for open enrollment, education and benefit compliance, including ERISA, ACA and Section 125.
  • Oversees leave of absences and ensures compliance with FMLA and ADA.
  • Compiles and enters payroll data, reconciles and processes all payroll taxes, process payroll, and distributes paychecks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Manage terminations, including necessary documentation, exit interviews and unemployment claims.
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics, providing insights and recommendations to improve processes and strategies.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state employment regulations and mandatory postings.
  • Administer workers’ compensation programs when applicable, reporting claims, liaising with employees, managers and claims adjusters to ensure claims are processed in a timely manner and compliant with laws and policies.
  • Supports management on training and development of employees. Ensures employees attend mandatory employment training.
  • Stay up to date with the latest HR trends, laws, and regulations to ensure compliance and make recommendations for policy updates or changes.
  • Complies with Company’s attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years Human Resource related experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Above average verbal/written communication skills.
  • Computer skills including MS Office and QuickBooks.
  • Exercises discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Must have a high degree of discretion when dealing confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Exhibits patience and multitask in a fast paced environment.
  • Special knowledge required— knowledge of employment law.

Work Environment:

  • Office setting and collaborative team environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Ability to travel to other locations and perform according to the requirements of the position.
  • Physical demands include lifting up to 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. on a random basis, standing, walking or sitting for extended periods of time, and bending or stooping.
