Full time experienced picture framer for an art gallery/custom frame shop. Responsibilities include but are not limited to cutting and joining of frames, mat cutting, wet and dry mounting, glazing, fillets, object mounting, stretching of canvases. Will also be expected to properly pack for shipping valuable and sometimes fragile artwork. Will entail all aspects of a museum quality custom framing operation.
The successful candidate will exhibit a fanatical attention to detail and a zeal for productivity. Must be a creative and practical problem solver. Must have good organizational skills and be able to work in a systematic and methodical fashion. Familiarity and proficiency with the tools of the trade is expected as well as knowledge of archival framing and hinging techniques and requirements. Some weekend hours may be required for this position. Will consider various levels of experience and train accordingly. Must be able to work individually as well as part of a team. Most important: an ability to retain superb quality standards in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
