The assistant will be trained in all matters of the kitchen including service according to the state and federal requirements for community based residential facilities (CBRFs). The assistant will provide assistance in meal service and other tasks associated with Harvest Home’s dining program. The assistant is to be respectful of the residents, family and visitors. The assistant is also to establish a safe and pleasant atmosphere for all of the residents at Harvest Home throughout the scheduled shift, carrying out all daily tasks in a professional manner. The Assistant will work closely with the Dining Services Coordinator to organize and establish menus and proper food prep in the memory care houses.
Responsibilities:
Promote Harvest Home Senior Living Services mission and philosophy in daily work.
Maintain a professional positive attitude at all times.
Be punctual and maintain reliable attendance according to scheduled work times. (10am to 6pm)
Demonstrate knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
Reviews with the Dining Service Coordinator and Nursing staff, dietary restrictions of residents.
Prepares food dishes according to the dietary requirements of the resident.
Prepares and serves meals according to menu plan, recipes and meal times, involving residents in the process as they are able and as they desire.
Assist in maintaining a clean, comfortable environment in the dining area.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the kitchen. Including sweeping and mopping daily, cleaning walls, cleaning inside and outside of fridges and freezers and cleaning the stove and ovens.
Recording food temperatures daily on temp logs provided.
Reports any abuse, suspected abuse or alleged abuse to the appropriate authorities.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
