Job Description: OR Tech (Scrub Tech)

OR Tech - Part time, 20 hrs/wk; 6:45am-5:15pm

Holiday/Weekend Requirements:

• Weekends: No regular weekend shifts, mandatory scheduled weekend call (notified 6 weeks in advance).
• Holidays: Rotating schedule.

On Call Requirement:

• Weekdays: 5:15 PM - 6:45 AM
• Weekends: 5:15 PM Friday to 6:45 AM Monday
• Frequency: Approximately 6 days per month due to current staff levels, aiming for 1 day out of every 8 with more trained staff.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Operating Room RNs to perform OR Tech duties.
• Adhere to AORN Standards of Practice.
• Manage supplies and equipment under the direction of an OR RN.
• Promote teamwork with physicians and other department personnel.
• OR Technician certification preferred; knowledge of anatomy and physiology required.

Shift Differential:

• Evenings (3 PM - 11 PM): $3.00
• Nights (11 PM - 7 AM): $4.00
• Standby: $4.00
• Weekend: $2.25
• Differentials accrue after 4 hours of working in a different time zone.

Must Haves:

• Certification: Washington State Registry with WA DOH, NBSTSA Certification, BLS required.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of OR Tech experience, unless certified or a graduate of an approved program.
• Education: Graduate of a basic Operating Room Technician Program.

Preferred:

• Experience: Previous interior hip experience highly preferred, 2 years of experience.

About the Unit:

• Number of Beds: 4 OR Suites
• Patient Population: Pediatrics to Geriatrics
• Common Diagnoses: ENT, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Podiatry, GI, Urology, GYN, Scopes, Cataracts
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:1
